More About Ray
Ray’s work is shaped by a lifelong devotion to understanding how safety, trust, rupture, repair, and aliveness move in the body.
Long before she had language for somatics or nervous system regulation, Ray learned to read energy, presence, and attunement as a child, working closely with horses. These early experiences taught her how trust is built through patience, sensitivity, attunement, co regulation and consistency; lessons that would later become the foundation of her work.
Learning to gain the trust of 1000lb animal, taught her how to establish trust within our own animal bodies. Even after pain, rupture, or trauma.
Through her years as a long board surfer, traveling the world for the best waves, she has also woven many of the lessons she has learned in the water, into her work and every day life.
For example; when the body is convinced it’s not safe… how we create a sense of safety even in the mystery.
Or when you feel as though you’re running out of air (or hope, or perseverance, or capacity) and are convinced you won’t make it through…. How we ground into the body and stay resilient in a sustainable way.
After first following the conventional medical and self-improvement paths that aimed to manage or suppress pain, Ray later chose a slower, more embodied way. She spent years studying meditation, embodiment, trauma-informed somatic work, breathwork, and ceremonial practice under seasoned teachers and medicine holders.
Her training includes integrative somatic trauma therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy education, breathwork facilitation, and deep study in embodied awareness and relational dynamics.
But her work was not shaped by training alone.
Through her own journey of familial rupture, a complex trauma history, a disorienting adoption experience, severe medical challenges, initiatory life transitions, and her own descent out of survival and control, Ray learned what many high-functioning women know, but don’t know what to do with: that doing “all the right things” doesn’t necessarily create safety or fulfillment.
True change came not from pushing, fixing, or transcending, but from softening into presence, finding safety in the mystery, and learning how to stay with what arises, even in the discomfort.
Now, that doesn’t mean bypassing pain or growth edges, but rather developing the nervous system capacity and spiritual solid ground to be with all of life, and not be taken down by it.
Her work isn’t about reaching a place of constant ease where no challenges arise, but rather teaching women how to hold themselves tenderly and honestly when the set waves roll in.
Today, Ray’s work blends somatic healing, sensual embodiment, nervous system restoration, ceremonial practice & grounded leadership into spaces where women can land without performing, proving, or powering through.
She has guided hundreds of women through long-form immersions and international retreats, many of whom are leaders, educators, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and creatives who hold an immense amount of responsibility in their lives and communities.
Her work is known for pairing gentleness with depth, mystery with clarity, trust with fierce precision, and reverence with real life humanity.
Sometimes the ceremony happens in a circle or retreat space. Other times it happens in the ocean, in simplicity, or in the quiet moments of a sunset. For Ray, life itself is the altar, and she invites you into that reality too.
Women leave her spaces not “fixed” or transformed overnight, but equipped; with greater capacity, steadiness, and self-trust. They learn how to meet discomfort without abandoning themselves, how to hold both grief and joy, and how to live with a steady calm presence rather than constant effort or vigilance.
Ray’s leadership is deeply human. She believes healing is not about becoming perfect, but about becoming deeply present; and that softness, pleasure, and play are not indulgences, but essential for sustained healing and a fully lived life.
Ray is a deep ceremonialist and medicine woman, but also incredibly simple, human, and warm.
You may meet her in the depth of ceremony, or barefoot skate boarding at sunset.
You may meet her in the hot fires of a sacred women’s ritual, or find her solo camping on the beach somewhere remote.
In The Deeper Current ecosystem, it’s not about extremes or performance, it’s about letting life touch you in every way possible, and caring deeply…. but not taking it all so seriously.
The Deeper Current exists for women who have done the work, self studied, achieved the goals, and are ready for something quieter, truer, and more embodied.
A deeper way of living, inside this one precious life.
