3 Reasons Why Women Need to be in Community & Friendship With Other Women
“Abandon the cultural myth that all female friendships must be bitchy, toxic, or
competitive. This myth is like heels and purses - pretty, but designed to
SLOW women down.”
Women need each other. With everything going on it our world today, cultivating strong female friendships & community is more important than ever before. If we aren’t building each other up, supporting one another & lending a helping hand, then who will?
3 reasons why women need to be in community & friendship with other women:
1. No One Gets Women Like Women – Women need to stick together. Unfortunately, we live in a world that often tears us down, making us feel “less than” by discounting our thoughts, feelings & emotions. It’s no secret that women are more emotional than men – that’s part of our feminine essence. Our emotions are what make us strong & give us our power. They are the source of our empathy, connect us to our intuition and make us great problem solvers by allowing us to understand interpersonal dynamics. Not to mention that expressing emotions boosts our manifestation power! While society is quick to deem women as “crazy” for feeling all the feels, other women can back you up and validate your reasoning because they understand that the source of our power lies in our emotions and are way more likely to accept you & your feelings without judgement.
2. Women Inspire Women – When you’re stuck in a rut and feeling low on creativity & inspiration, there’s no better and quicker way to refuel your tank than by looking to other women who are doing incredible things – creating amazing art, building badass businesses, cooking nourishing food or being a killer mom. These women are called expanders, and we need them to open our minds up to all the possibilities of who and what we can be. The best part? When women are aligned with their authentic selves and in their flow, they want to help other women, not compete with them! So, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for advice!
3. It’s Good For Your Health – Want to live longer, reduce stress & boost self-esteem? Science has proven time and time again that having strong female friendships is good for you!
So, now you know why women need each other. Now here’s how. Wild Women’s Collective was born from a desire to create a space for cultivating true, deep & meaningful relationships with other women. Originally a dinner series (pre-pandemic!), WWC brought women together from across all ages, backgrounds and walks of life to inspire one other and escape the surface-level (and honestly boring!) conversations and relationships that are far too common these days. To encourage community in this time when so many are feeling lonely and isolated, we’ve decided to take WWC online! Join us for a 3-month course, where we’ll gather virtually to form a sisterhood and walk away with new skills to tap into your intuition and actionable techniques to bounce back from the stressors and societal expectations we experience in our daily lives. With the goal of cultivating a life of joy, ease & authenticity, each monthly workshop offers a live meditation circle and discussion, guest speakers, journal prompts, weekly challenges and a seat at a table where we lift up and show up for one another. The virtual workshop kicks off October 1st and runs through the end of December. We’d love nothing more than for you to join us as we dive in deep!

*** And speaking of women doing incredible things & lifting each other up, I’ve got to credit my girl Sophie Everard for some of the photos in this post! She is the founder of Mad To Live; a women’s adventure and surf retreat company.
Let me just say, my experience at MTL Costa Rica was nothing short of life changing. It was a week full of stepping out of my comfort zone, pushing myself past what I thought I was capable of, healing my mean girl wounds and being surrounded by BAD ASS women supporting BAD ASS women. I’m here for it. Do yourself a favor and go check out what she’s up to!
